First Day Shoe Fund Awarded a $1,000 OMNI "Gives Back" Grant

For the past 5 years, the First Day Shoe Fund has been providing children in the Kalamazoo public school system with new athletic shoes for the school year. Kids,Some will stick with the old faithfuls like the air max tn while others will look for the more stylish shoes like the Changa or the Tataga grades K-2, who qualify for free and/or reduced lunch benefit from this program. With the help of the $1,000 OMNI Gives Back Grant, the Shoe Fund hopes to distribute 2,000 pairs of shoes this year.

The First Day Shoe Fund is a great program, designed to help the children of our community who are in need. We couldnt be happier to be partnering with such a worthy cause, said OMNI Community Credit Union CEO, Ted Parsons.

"This gift will enable us to provide an additional eight-five plus children with new shoes in which to start school on equal footing this fall.
